About New Qina City

New Qina is one of the third-generation cities (Among the most important third-generation cities, including The New Administrative Capital, El Shorouk City, Sheikh Zayed). The Egyptian government aims to build this city to enhance the investment opportunity in Upper Egypt in general and in Qina City in particular.

The city was built under the Republican decree No. 197 of 2000, as it stipulated the establishment of a new city in Qina as an extension of the city of Qina, which is 8 kilometers away, covering a total area of 24.2 thousand feddans, and is considered as the second city to be built directly on the east of the Nile.

New Qina City Layout

The City covers a total area of 24,2 thousand feddans, about 7,000 feddans of which have been allocated to the urban mass, while the rest area is dedicated to the services, industrial zones and green spaces. The City is divided as follows:

  • Residential areas

  • Service areas

  • Industrial areas

  • Tourist and recreational areas

Housing Sector in New Qina City

The population plan targets 700,000 residents upon the completion of its full phases, and the Ministry of Housing has been keen on providing diverse housing units in it to suit all different social classes. Many residential units in the City have been completed, including: 

  • 169 apartment blocks with a total of 7,584 units of social housing apartments, with EGP 9,000 as a down payment and installments over 20 years.

  • Constructing 1,548 national housing unit.

  • Constructing 54 blocks with a total of 3,668 social housing apartments.

  • Constructing 13,40 social housing units for rent.

The services sector in New Qina City is a highly integrated sector, as the government was keen on providing all services that would make the city fully integrated. Such services include the following:

  • A primary school (Tahya Misr Experimental and Outstanding Language School) with a total of 33 classrooms

  • Nurseries, and a primary school in the area of social housing services

  • 3 health units and one ambulance point

  • 2 commercial markets

  • A social club and a public library

  • An electricity network of 31.5 feddans and 12 km long

  • A telephone network with a capacity of 18,828 lines for the First District and the rest of the Second District .

The volume of investments in New Qina City is about EGP 3.6 billion distributed as follows:

  • Utilities sector EGP 1,9 billions.

  • Housing sector EGP 1,2 billions.

  • Services sector EGP 483,6 millions.

New Qena City is one of the cities where the pace of constructions are accelerating, the most important of which are as follows:

  • Constructing 141 apartments by the private sector

  • Building 5 blocks with 120 apartments within the social housing project

  • Constructing a secondary school at the second district’s services center

  • Constructing a STEM school

  • Constructing a primary school at the second (2) area

  • Constructing a hospital with a capacity of 175 beds

  • A youth center on an area of 15 feddans
