About 15th of May City

15th of May City is considered as one of the first-generation cities that was established in 1978.
It is the main link between the cities of Upper Egypt and Greater Cairo as it is located south-east of Helwan 35 km away from Cairo.
In the west, it is bordered by the main Autostrada “Heliopolis – Helwan”. In the east, it is bordered by Al Jubanant. In the north, it is bordered by military lands 6.5 km away from the east of the Nile River. In the south, it is bordered by Al Kurimar desert road.

The area 15th of May City is about 8300 feddans; including 3500 feddan allocated for the urban areas (housing, commercial, service, industrial areas, roads and green areas)
The city consists of 4 phases; each phase is divided into 12 housing neighbours so as the total is 48 housing neighbours.
The latest of these phases is the fourth one called Al Imtedad and it has areas for the social housing as follows:

-An area of 90 feddans as units for the social housing

-The area of the family housing

-An area of 115 feddans as units for the medium housing (Dar Misr Project)

The city provides all services for social housing projects, including the following:

Commercial malls in areas of 90 feddans, 50 feddans and 250 feddans with multiple commercial activities.
Primary education schools in areas of 90 feddans and 120 feddans, according to the models of the educational buildings.
High schools in areas of 50 feddans and 290 feddans.
A medical centre in an area of 120 feddans, and another in an area of 290 feddans.
A five-a-side stadium in an area of 90 feddans and another third-a-side stadium in an area of 50 feddan.
A nursery in an area of 290 feddans.
A mosque in an area of 90 feddans and another in an area of 170 feddans.
A church in an area of 120 feddans.
