People in charge of developing the capital were not satisfied with merely establishing an integrated city. Rather, they aspired that the city would be distinguished and different from others in the region to be able to compete and stand on top. New Capital Towers in the Central Business District 

Workers and engineers are currently racing against time to finish the launch of the New Administrative Capital towers. There are 20 different towers, including the iconic tower, which is the tallest in Africa with a total investment of 3 billion dollars. The Chinese company (CSCES) supervises the tower’s implementation, bearing in mind that this company  is considered one of the largest contracting companies in the world, and cooperates with the Egyptian Ministry of Housing and local contracting companies. 

 On February 3, 2021, the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, announced a remarkable progress in the construction rate in the towers area and its Characteristic commercial shops For example, the C08 tower has already reached 30 floors, while work continues on the other towers after the completion of the concrete works.  

The area of ​​the towers project with commercial units in  the Central Business District is about 1.71 million square meters, equivalent to approximately 195 acres. The height of the towers ranges between 100 and 200 meters.  

 

The Iconic Tower: The Tallest in Egypt and Africa  

The Iconic Tower will stand in the heart of the financial and business district in the New Administrative Capital, among the other 20 towers. The length of the tower is about 385 meters and consists of 78 floors .It stretches over an area of ​​240 thousand square meters, with a built-up area of ​​1.24 million square meters above ground and underground area of 465 thousand square meters. 

The Iconic Tower is divided into three parts: 

  • An administrative building for the tower and for the new capital, with a headquarters for the Central Bank of Egypt, and a central banknote printing house
  • Residential apartments in new administrative
  • An international 6-star hotel

So far (till February 2021), 53 floors of the iconic tower have been completed, with the main construction work to be completed by the end of next June. The project is scheduled to be delivered this December.  

 

Design of the Iconic Tower 

The design of the iconic tower is merging the ancient Egyptian civilization with the bright future that the new capital seeks to achieve in the administrative offices in the new capital. Therefore, the design simulates the dimensions of the original Pharaonic obelisk and embodies its geometric perfection . The design also adopts the art of decoration or Art Deco in addition to a representation of the Nile River through the channels connecting The corners of the tower to the ground. 

More amazingly, The glass façade of the tower was inspired by the ancient Egyptian lotus flower. There is also great interest in the infrastructure and concrete structure of the tower in order to withstand difficult conditions and natural phenomena such as earthquakes. 

 

Location of New Administrative Capital Towers

The New Administrative Capital Towers are located within the financial and business district between the northern and southern axes of Mohammed bin Zayed. The administrative capital itself is located east of Cairo on the Cairo-Suez road, and the Cairo-Ain Sokhna road, about 10 minutes away from the cities of Rehab and the future. It is 80 kilometers away from Suez Governorate and 60 kilometers away from Villages and resorts of Ain Sokhna.

CSEC entered the Egyptian market in 1984.Over the past 37 years, it has implemented a group of distinguished projects in Egypt such as Residential towers in New Alamein City.

In 2016, an agreement was signed between Egypt and China to establish the central business district in the new administrative capital. Over the past four years, China has sent many engineering teams to supervise the new projects, bearing in mind that the number of workers in the towers area reaches about 8,000 Egyptian and Chinese workers and engineers.  

In addition, a new agreement was signed between the Chinese construction giant and the Egyptian Ministry of Housing in order to establish a group of 5 fully finished and serviced residential towers in the New Alamein City. 

These towers are divided into 4 towers. Each tower is 200 meters high  (about 56 floors), with a total flat area of ​​320,000 square meters. As for the fifth tower, it is in the heart of these towers with a height of 250 meters (about 68 floors), and it extends over an area of ​​about 465,000 square meters. It is planned to  take 45 months to be implemented. 

 

Most Important Information about the New Administrative Capital  

Within months, the New Administrative Capital will become the capital of the administrative government in Egypt and a commercial, economic, and political center in Egypt and the Middle East. The New Capital extends over an area of ​​170,000 feddans, and is divided into 4 main districts. 

It was built with the aim of reducing property units in Cairo, population density, besides creating job opportunities, new projects, and opening an Egyptian investment market. The New Capital is expected to attract more than 18 million people in its first years. 

The new giant city is located on the borders of Badr City, east of the regional ring road, and between New Cairo and Suez City, and after the Madinaty and Mostakbal City projects. It is also about 60 kilometers from the Suez Governorate, and the heart of Cairo.
