Tidying up a room after room

Tidying up our houses definitely reflects our whole life, since organization has a principal effect on the mood, and daily productivity. Yet, daily tidying is not actually a simple process, and hence we should follow some tips and put in place a technique to make the house completely free of mess and easy to tidy up daily.

General Tips

  • You should identify your priorities and get rid of unnecessary things which is the primary reason for creating a mess.
  • Take care of making a storage space for everything at house, avoid buying anything that would have no place, eliminate any excess and leave no room for clutter.
  • Buy less, just own what you need.
  • Find a place for every item, return it back after using it, and do not let the mess get worse.

Tidying up the Kitchen

  •  Use drawer organizers to put spoons, forks, and knives, access them easily and get what you want.
  • Eliminate the extra water bottles, since there is no need to pile up 20 bottles in the fridge and on the marble.
  • Separate between the daily used cooking tools and the baking tools and utensils used in the oven.
  • Check out old and rarely used spices, and always make sure that all spices are fresh and properly preserved.
  • It is better to reasonably buy only the food and drinks you need, so the fridge would stay organized and the food stays fresh and easily accessible.
  • Hang your kitchen tools frequently used to get at your fingertips.

Laundry Space

  • Use 3 bins for clothes: the first for colors, the second for white clothes, and the third for delicates and write the name on each basket to avoid the clutter of clothes.
  • Make a space near the washing machine to put all the detergent stuff in, and avoid surrounding mess.
  • Hang the washing instructions near the washing machine that helps keep your clothes and family clothes.

Living Room

The living room is the most used rooms at the house, and therefore the following tricks should be considered:

  • The living room is full of electronic devices, and thus have multiple electrical connections which lead to cable clutter. Therefore, you should simply use the cord tamer to protect the wires from being cut or tangled and keep them out of reach of children.
  • Make use of the bottom space of the sofa and buffets for storage.
  • Make use of the vertical space and hang shelves and storage units on the walls.

Closet

  • Take advantage of the closet and use all spaces correctly and orderly.
  • Keep out-of-season (winter/summer) clothes away for easy use of the available space.
  • Get rid of what you don’t need as you can easily get the clothes you need.
  • Put clothes in the closet as soon as you take them off, which will keep them from cluttering and piling up every day.
  • You can divide the shelves to easily organize your clothes more practically.

Bedroom

  • Making up your bed every day takes only a few minutes daily, but helps keep the bedroom organized and clean.
  • Use under bed storage, especially for seasonal items like clothes, fans or others.
  • Use drawer organizers for the drawer of the dresser and beside tables, and regularly remove whatever you do not need.
